Chickadees

4 to 6 year-olds

Three day/Two night program

The Chickadee program at Oconto is a great opportunity for girls who are keen to get a taste of overnight camp at a young age. Chickadees will have the chance to try many of our camp activities, such as canoeing, swimming, sailing, arts & crafts, dance, and parachute games. Unlike other Oconto Campers, Chickadees will travel around to activities with their counsellor. Plus, they’ll play games, sing songs, get tuck, make new friends, and of course roast marshmallows. It’s a lot of fun packed into 48 hours!

Chickadees will live in cabins with electricity. Staff members will be in the same buildings as campers, but a separate bedroom – camp walls don’t quite reach the ceiling, so campers get a sense of independence in their own room while counsellors are still close at hand. Meals will be served in the Dining Hall, family style, along with a mid morning and afternoon snack.

Robins

6 to 8 year-olds

Five day/Four night program

The Robins program at Oconto is a great stepping stone for girls who are old enough to come for a full session, but are not quite ready to be away from home for two weeks. Robins will have the chance to try many of our camp activities, such as kayaking, canoeing, swimming, sailing, pottery, archery, rock wall, and tennis. Robins will follow a typical Oconto camper schedule, but they will travel around to activities with their counsellor. Plus, they’ll play games, sing songs, get tuck, make new friends, and have a campfire. Robins will also have opportunities to integrate with the Tads, Oconto’s youngest camper section. It’s a great introduction to what being an Oconto camper is like!
