TESTIMONIALS

Balance.

"Oconto taught me how to balance everything from when to be a leader and when to let others lead to knowing when to share the load and when to do things yourself."

Life-changing.

"My Oconto experience was life-changing, yes, but I don’t feel that it specifically changed who I was. Rather, it helped foster and build my strengths, gave me a baseline for my true self that I can always reflect on, gave me confidence in my abilities and provided the example of positive role models and the support of life-long friends that has helped shape the person I would grow to become."

Best Friends.

"Without camp, my life would be unrecognizable! Oconto is where I met my best friends, where I learned all of my transferable professional skills and where I figured out what kind of woman I am. I am a better friend, daughter, and employee because of the lessons I learned at Oconto."

CAMP FEE DETAILS

All fees listed are in Canadian dollars.

Visitor days for Four Week Campers

July: Saturday, July 10th   August: Saturday, August 14th

Invoicing and Camp Forms

Upon receiving your daughter’s registration form, we will advise you of her acceptance or her place on the waiting list. Following acceptance, we will confirm her registration at Oconto. In the spring, we will send you an invoice, a suggested packing list, and an Important Camper Information Bulletin, detailing bus transportation and other pertinent information.

The Basic Camp Fee includes laundry service, activities and activity awards. It does not include riding lessons, special trips, transportation fess, tuck charges or Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross manuals.

Fee Policy

A deposit of $1000.00 is required for all sessions. If withdrawal is made by April 1st, a $300.00 administration fee will apply. If the application cannot be accepted, the full deposit will be returned. Balance of fees are due either in full on April 15th, or split into three equal payments, due February 1st, April 1st, and June 1st.

Cancellations after April 1st could result in loss of payments. There will be no refund of fees allowed for campers dismissed from camp or for campers arriving late or leaving early in the time enrolled. Interest will be charged at 2% per month on overdue accounts.

Dismissal: The camp director has discretion to dismiss your daughter from camp in the event that your daughter breaches camp rules, including the non-smoking, alcohol or drugs rule.

Tuck

At the end of your daughter’s stay at camp, we will invoice you for any bus and riding charges she incurred, as well as items purchased through our tuck shop. This may include such items as postage stamps, toiletries, candy and soft drinks, Chapel donations, and manuals required for Bronze Med and Bronze Cross.

Transportation

Bus
Buses are chartered from Toronto to camp at the start of sessions 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 and returning to Toronto at the end of each camper and QC session. There is also a bus to Ottawa and Montreal at the end of sessions 1 & 3. Bus charges will be made accordingly.

Flights
If you require your daughter to be picked up or dropped off at the airport, please get in touch with our office. Do not book any flights without being in contact with us first. We ask for campers who we are picking up from the airport arrive the day before their session start date. Please contact the camp office to discuss details.

Optional (English Style) Riding Lessons

We do our best to have campers ride three times per week, at a cost of $40.00 per lesson. Campers must sometimes decide if they would rather go on a canoe trip or other excursions and miss one or more riding lessons which are scheduled at the same time. When there is time, make-up lessons are organized. Campers should discuss this with their parents before making a decision about riding.

Riding Lessons: $40.00 per lesson and campers must bring their own riding helmet to participate in this program. Camp will not loan or rent helmets.

Session 1 — approximately 9 lessons

Session 2 — approximately 4 lessons

Session 3 — approximately 6 lessons

Session 4 — approximately 9 lessons

Session 5 — approximately 6 lessons

Session 6 — approximately 5 lessons

Clothing & Other Equipment

Exactly what each camper brings is a decision you as a family will need to make, however we strongly suggest that all valuables be left at home, and that you “use up” clothes, rather than send new ones to camp. Please ensure that all items are labelled.
